At-Home Services
We are licensed to provide in-home assistance with everyday tasks that may be difficult or unsafe for a resident to do alone. Professionally coordinated, our At-Home Services foster good health and will help to keep you independent.
At-Home Services are arranged for and provided by Westminster Village’s staff who will work with you to develop a package of reasonably priced services tailored to meet your needs. Because we are on site, we don’t charge for travel time so you get more time with staff for the money. Westminster Village also handles the criminal background checks, references, employee taxes and benefits, as well as insurance and workers compensation.

Rehabilitation
Our recently renovated and expanded therapy department is a hub of activity. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy services work to restore maximum levels of functioning. We provide specialized skilled nursing care and rehabilitation for older adults needing recuperative care following hospitalization or after a stroke, joint hip replacement or fracture. By using individualized approaches that steadily restore stamina, our therapy team can facilitate shorter lengths of stay. In addition, our discharge planning support works with families and residents to ensure everything is ready for the return home.

Care for People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Forms of Memory Impairment
“Neighborhood of HOPE” is a separate, secured memory support unit where we provide skilled nursing services and therapy to those with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory impairment.
- We use research and proven Montessori-based Activity Programming©: Ongoing, daily, normal life experiences are particularly critical to people with memory loss. Montessori methods identify ways to provide the supportive environment needed for our residents to experience independence and self-esteem by providing consistent, positive experiences throughout the day. The inherent challenges of promoting freedom of choice and personal satisfaction in people with dementia requires continuous staff training which is provided for Westminster Village by the Meyers Research Institute.
- Spaced-retrieval and Montessori-based Programming for Dementia® are used by rehab to enhance function.
- Validation Therapy encourages interaction by enabling others to step into the “reality” of the individual. This frequently involves reminiscing about a previous career or hobby.
- Consistent nursing assignments and caregiving teams create a sense of belonging and security for residents.
- Comfortable surroundings enable residents, staff and families to enjoy an environment that is supportive and calm.
- Weight loss and dehydration can be serious issues for people with memory impairment. The dining experience in our brand new dining room is sensitive to the slower pace that is critical for those residents who need to be cued and prompted to eat and drink.
- Our Snoezelen Room provides a therapeutic and soothing environment that uses cozy reclining chairs, sounds of nature, meditative music, and aroma therapy, as well as visual and tactile displays that surround the room, to create a soothing environment.
- “Celine’s Garden” provides a beautiful secured area for individuals to take a stroll, enjoy the fresh air, sit and relax with a loved one while surrounded by an array of scenic foliage.
- A pleasant bathing experience decreases agitation and helps residents feel in control. Our “Bathing Spa” promotes comfort and provides a pleasant bathing experience.

Long- and Short-Term Skilled Nursing or Personal Care Respite Care
We are able to provide additional support to our residents through our short-term stay programs. In some cases, caregivers are able to take advantage of our respite care services so that they can take worry-free vacations and access additional help when needed.
New Senior Living Technologies
We are committed to providing the most advanced amenities and services to our residents, including new and emerging technologies developed for the healthcare industry. It is with this commitment in mind that we are among the first in the mid-Atlantic region to use Point of Care and Millennium, two unique technology platforms designed to augment communication and quality of care. When you have a few minutes, take time to ask one of the nursing staff about how these technologies are further enhancing the quality of care offered through our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation services.
- Point of Care Resident Information System – a computerized resident information management system which enables real-time information sharing among our licensed nursing staff as well as nursing assistants.
- Millennium Pharmacy System – a computerized system designed to deliver significant benefits to the long term care industry, including increased nursing efficiency and enhanced resident safety.
Hospice Care
We provide comfort, emotional, and spiritual support services to persons with terminal illness and their families. We believe that people should not feel they are alone when approaching the end of their lives. Our staff and volunteers provide emotional support and peaceful surroundings while providing end-of-life comfort to residents and their family and friends. Ongoing training in pain management and in ways to help people cope with the emotions surrounding end of life is pivotal to meeting this aspect of our mission.
