Linny and Beall Fowler: Special Friends of Westminster Village
The names “Linny and Beall Fowler” are synonymous with “philanthropy” in the Lehigh Valley. Having served on nearly every board imaginable, they have been awarded nearly every philanthropic recognition offered by the many not-for-profit organizations in Bethlehem (their hometown), Allentown, Easton and beyond.
Proudly, Linny chose Westminster Village as the latest focus of her philanthropic attention. She provided us with a $100,000 challenge to inspire members of her church, the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, to make individual gifts and pledges to Campaign Westminster: Giving for Living!
Linny’s relationship with Westminster Village is one of long standing. She is a friend of the Westminster Village Auxiliary as well as a number of our residents. Each time she visits with her trademark warm smile, Linny is fully engaged in everything she observes.
“The joy you get from giving while you’re here on this Earth is so great,” says Linny. “My heart has been deeply moved by the lives of our friends at Westminster Village. They have renewed in me a dedication to the mission of this special community.”
Sustained by her Presbyterian faith, Linny shared with Westminster Village leadership her desire to have a bolder presence serving the needy. With her church having helped found Westminster Village, what better place to start than with some of the frailest, most deserving members of our community? Inspired by her friend Dexter Baker, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown which responded wonderfully to a $100,000 challenge, Linny made a similar challenge to inspire the members of her church to join the cause.
To date, members of the church have responded superbly to Linny and Beall’s wonderful challenge with more than $140,000 in individual gifts and pledges! With their help, joined by that of many other friends, Westminster Village, a valued partner in ministry to the elderly and their families, can grow and thrive in this century and beyond. Linny and Beall, we salute you and thank you!
